What is the Wellness Challenge?

 This is a program that will be offered through the Tazewell Wellness Movement and hosted by Brown Chiropractic and the Four Seasons YMCA. The program will begin on March 1st and registration is open from February 11-February 29th. Those who participate will have the opportunity to experience profound benefits which are outlines below.
The purpose of this Wellness Challenge is to get the Tazewell community to become one of the healthiest places in the country to live and we are confident that our Wellness Movement will be he catalyst for all great things on the horizon. With this being said, the foundation we will build for each attendee focuses on BE FIT, EAT RIGHT, THINK WELL, and STAT CONNECTED. If you incorporate all of these dimensions into your life, you will live better than you ever thought possible.
The challenge is a TEAM EVENT and we are allowing a maximum of 12 teams to join (2-4 members), which means that it is essential to act quickly. If you do not have a team, we will make sure that we connect you with other community members that are congruent with what you are looking to achieve.
The program highlights are the following:

Creating Wellness Assessment, Body Analysis, & Allaris Vital-Check (Performed by trained Brown Chiropractic Staff)

Initial Team consultation with a certified YMCA Personal Trainer. |

3 (minimum) YMCA or Y sanctioned workouts required each week to qualify in prize drawings |

1 Group Personal Training Session each week |

Opportunity to attend up to 4 private workshops which count toward one of your weekly workouts (Nutrition Typing, Smoothie Workshop, S.M.A.R.T Goal Setting, Conquer the Elephant in the Room)

BE FIT
|
Our bodies require MOVEMENT and that is exactly what will take place during the wellness challenge. Each week you will have a group personal training session, 3 additional Y sanctioned workouts, and a variety of assessments will be performed in order to establish a benchmark based on where you are beginning the program. |
EAT RIGHT |
We are what we EAT which is an extremely unsettling realization because the foods we are putting in our bodies are typically more destructive than helpful. This is why we are offering workshops on this topic. Nutritional Typing is a workshop we will teach that will help you realize how to burn fat efficiently, along with our Smoothie workshop which will make you aware of amazing recipes! |
THINK WELL |
The space between our ears controls how much we experience in our lives. If we consistently have self-limiting beliefs OR we are unable to set and achieve goals, the outcome is a low self esteem and typically a bleak outlook on life. This is why we will be offering two distinct workshop that focus on this dimension of your life. Setting S.M.A.R.T Goals are essential along with Conquering the Elephant in the Room which focuses on mastering your beliefs. |
| STAY CONNECTED |
The entire Tazewell Wellness Movement is all about Staying Connected because TOGETHER everything becomes possible. With this being said, this challenge happens to epitomize the necessity of human connection because each individual participant will be placed in a group of two to four people. They will have the responsibility of working together in order to create dramatic results. |

Margaret Meade, the great American Anthropologist and Author, once said,"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens, can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Our mission is to help make Tazewell one of the healthiest places to live in our country. If we are able to achieve this, then our children will grow up in a world where health and wellness is at the forefront of their decision making process, the community members in Tazewell will "get rid" of their medications that they have been told would be needed for the remainder of their lives, and the entire culture will become one of vitality and full potential. We foresee the Tazewell Wellness Movement as a tiny snowball that is picking up momentum as it soars downhill and becomes the backbone for possibility with the community. Knowledge is the absolute truth of health and when we combine this with clearly defined action steps that are both simple and highly rewarding, we will experience measurable health improvements and a brighter future. Each month the Tazewell Wellness movement will be hosting events, initiatives, lectures, teleseminars, etc.
We envision a paradigm shift where people realize health is something that comes from you, not something that happens to you. Health does not happen by accident, nor does sickness and disease. We want to remove the misinformation and replace it with The truth, which consists of the necessity to give our bodies, minds, and souls that which it requires to express health. Consider the laws of the universe that apply to all living things. Those same laws apply to us. For a simple house plant to express or be healthy it must receive adequate amounts of water, sunshine, and nutrients. What would happen if it didn't get appropriate amounts of one, two, or all 3 of the required elements? What if it got all its required elements, but we also poured a 12 oz. soda into the soil daily? It would, over time, become less and less healthy, until it eventually died. These same truths that apply to all living things also apply to us. If we regularly don't give our bodies what it needs we will lose our health. This is the cause of nearly ALL DISEASE IN OUR COUNTRY.
Therefore, THE TAZEWELL WELLNESS MOVEMENT WILL GIVE YOU...

New Year's happens to be a time when the majority of the world sets goals for what they would like to achieve in the following year, but only 8% (this was posted in a recent article that I read) actually see these desires come to fruition. Whether it is weight loss, more time with the family, organizational needs, or having control of your finances, people make bold statements at the end of each year, only to make the same statement at the culmination of the next year as well.
